Last night, Cub Scout Pack 707 had an incredible opportunity to visit the Dorchester County Sheriff Office Crime Lab. The scouts learned how law enforcement utilizes science to solve crimes, with a special focus on fingerprinting.

The evening was packed with hands-on experiences! Scouts were able to record their fingerprints using fingerprint powder, discovering firsthand how this essential technique helps solve cases. They also witnessed the power of alternative light sources, which make it easier to see fingerprints, and learned about liquid fingerprint solutions that can be used to find prints on vehicles.

The highlight of the visit was the surprise tour of the Lenco BearCat SWAT vehicle. The scouts were thrilled to see the impressive equipment used by law enforcement to keep the community safe.

A huge thank you to Detective Happe for taking the time to meet with our scouts and providing them with such a memorable learning experience! Your dedication to educating our youth about the important role of science in law enforcement is greatly appreciated.

Pack 707 is grateful for the opportunity to engage with our local law enforcement and looks forward to more exciting adventures in the future!
