The birthday of Cub Scouting—115 years old! And what better way to celebrate than with a fun-filled day at Ashley River Park? The pavilion was decorated in Blue & Gold, with balloons aplenty, setting the stage for an unforgettable day.

The morning kicked off with a warm welcome as we greeted all our guests and went over the exciting plans ahead. Every scout in Pack 707 attended, making this a truly special gathering. After opening remarks, it was time to move on to our first adventure—bicycling!

🚴‍♂️ Biking Adventure

Every rank in Cub Scouts now includes a bicycling adventure, and our scouts were determined to earn it! The session began with important instructions from Cubmaster Ben, covering:✅ Types of bikes & safety features, Essential safety gear, and Hand signals & road safety.

Once the learning was done, it was time to ride! Helmets secured (a must!), bikes mounted, and off they went! The group rode over 3 miles, focusing on safety, camaraderie, and above all—FUN!

🍽️ Lunch & Celebration

After the ride, it was time to refuel! Scouts and families enjoyed a delicious meal featuring:🥩 Pulled pork BBQ & smoked turkey from Swig & Swine, 🌭 All-beef hot dogs fresh off the grill, and 🍽️ Classic BBQ fixings

With full bellies, the scouts took over the playground, navigating obstacles, climbing structures, and playing together—all while practicing the buddy system for safety.

🎂 A Birthday Without Cake? No Way!

Before moving on to the next adventure, we had to celebrate Cub Scouting’s birthday properly—with cake! Everyone gathered as we sang Happy Birthday to Cub Scouting, then enjoyed a slice of deliciousness.

🏅 Awards & Recognition

Blue & Gold wouldn’t be complete without recognizing our scouts’ hard work!

Belt loops, MLK Day of Service patches, Scouting for Food patches, Scout Sunday patches, and a special Blue & Gold ceremonial patch were awarded.

🎖️ Four scouts (1 Lion & 3 Tigers) earned their rank badge! With their Akelas by their side, they received their “upside-down” rank patch, with the challenge to complete a "good deed" before turning it right-side up and officially securing it to their uniform.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Pins Ceremony: Our scouts don’t do this alone! As a show of gratitude, each scout pinned a parent pin on their Akela, recognizing their families’ role in their achievements.

🎣 Fishing Adventure

After awards, the scouts voted unanimouslyhike or fishing?

🎣 Fishing won! Scouts and families grabbed their gear, tackle boxes, and bait and headed to the pond. Rods were strung, bobbers attached, worms hooked, and the casting began!

While no fish were caught this day, the fun and laughter were in abundance! An alligator was even spotted in the distance, quickly (and ceremonially) named "Teddy."

A brief rain shower passed through, but spirits weren’t dampened. The scouts took it in stride, enjoying the light drizzle before heading back for more cake and playground time!

🚲 Just One More Ride!

As the afternoon wound down, one last request came in from the scouts—"just one more bike ride!" And of course, the leaders didn’t disappoint! Helmets back on, and off they went for a few more laps of cycling fun.

🎉 Wrapping Up an Incredible Day

All good things must come to an end. In true Leave No Trace fashion, everyone pitched in to make sure the pavilion was cleaner than we found it.

🚲 Bikes were loaded, 🎒 Gear was stored, and 👋 Goodbyes were exchanged.

And with that, an amazing day of Cub Scouting came to a close!

Thank You to Our Pack 707 Family!

Pack 707 prides itself on: 💙 Family atmosphere, 🏕️ Providing opportunities scouts might not otherwise have, and 🎖️ Creating lasting memories!

This event wouldn’t have been possible without all of you! Thank you to our leaders, parents, and volunteers for making this event one for the books! 🎉

We can’t wait for the next adventure! 🚀
