Today was a day to remember as Pack 707 held its annual Pinewood Derby event, and what a fantastic day it was!
Starting the Day the Scout Way

Our day began with the Tiger Den (Kingstyn and Jude) bravely leading the pack in the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath, and Scout Law—because no scouting event is complete without these traditions!
Next came some important announcements, but of course, no one could resist the classic chant: “Announcements! Announcements, Announcements...a terrible way to be bored to death!” (IFKYK).
Once the "boring" announcements were done, our Bear Den Chief Ryanne stepped up to teach the pack about sportsmanship, highlighting how important it is to be a good sport whether in victory or defeat.
A Message to Have Fun and Do Your Best

Our self-appointed news team—Reagann, Elle, and Airabella—gave an energetic intro, reminding everyone of the day’s most important goals: Have Fun and Do Your Best!
Next up, it was time for some pre-race fun. Troop 742 led us in an exciting repeat-after-me song, “The Yodeler,” which got everyone moving and ready for the big race!
And the Races Begin!
With 26 car entries weighed, measured, and officially checked in, it was time to start the engines!

15 cars from our Cub Scouts across all dens—Lions through AOLs—took part in the epic Cub Scout race.
11 cars in the Outlaw Division—including entries from adults, den chiefs, and even a Dragon Scout—rounded out the event.
Each car raced four times, once on each lane of the track. With 26 rounds of racing, the energy was high, and emotions ran the gamut. But no matter the results, one thing was certain: everyone did their best!
Snacks and Votes for Best Design
After all the action, it was time for a snack break. While enjoying some light refreshments, attendees also cast their votes for the “Best Car” design in a secret ballot.
And the Awards Go To...
Finally, it was time to recognize the incredible efforts of our participants.

A Day to Remember
The excitement in the air was electric, and the Pinewood Derby brought out the best in all our scouts. Their creativity, sportsmanship, and hard work were on full display, making this year’s event a massive success.
A special thank you to all the parents and leaders who helped set up and break down the event. There truly is no way we could have done this without each and every one of you!
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so special. We can’t wait to see what next year’s Pinewood Derby has in store!
